Course Description
Course information provided by the 2025-2026 Catalog.
Learn basic rock climbing skills on real rock! We'll spend a glorious weekend climbing, tent camping, and relaxing at Minnewaska State Park in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains. We will cover climbing equipment and technique, knots, belaying, rappelling, and natural history.
Fees 395. for instruction/travel and food. Includes all climbing equipment and group camping gear (tents, stoves, etc.). If you don't have your own, personal camping gear (sleeping bag, headlamp, etc.) is available for rent at a 25% discount.

Instruction Mode: In Person
Course fee: $395. The first and second class will meet on campus in Bartels Hall, at the Lindseth Climbing Center. The weekend trip (4/18-4/20) will first meet at Bartels Hall and then head out to Minnewaska State Park in the heart of the Catskill Mountains. Transportation is provided for classes off campus.
Drop Deadline: Tuesday, January 21, 2025. Students will be responsible for the course fee and assessed a $50 administrative fee if they do not drop by the deadline.
