Covers evaluation of fibers, yarns, fabrics, and garments, with emphases on quality planning and evaluation based on industry standards. Laboratory sections introduce students to common testing specified in the textile and apparel industry, data generation and analysis. 


Prerequisites/Corequisites Prerequisite: FSAD 2370.

Fees Lab fee: $30.

Outcomes

  • Be conversant with quality assurance systems throughout the product life cycle.
  • Be familiar with industry standards organizations, certification systems, and regulatory agencies.
  • Understand material and product specifications.
  • Be able to interpret data and relate it to product parameters and performance standards.
  • Be able to communicate quality issues within the fashion industry.
