ILRLR 5040

Course information provided by the 2018-2019 Catalog.

The course introduces students to basic industrial relations concepts and provides an overview of industrial relations in the United States, but in a comparative context. Our analysis of comparative industrial relations will focus on cross-national differences and similarities, and how IR systems are responding to globalization. In addition, selected contemporary issues such as labor standards in supply chain, offshoring, and a special focus on Chinese industrial relations will also be addressed. Class sessions often will involve discussion of cases and other illustrations of the real world of industrial relations.
