Course Description
Course information provided by the 2017-2018 Catalog.
Basic top-rope ice climbing instruction. Both local ice climbing and Adirondack trips are available. Emphasis is on front pointing and belayed technical climbing - techniques best suited to the steep water ice typically found in the Northeast. Covers equipment, German technique (front pointing), tool selection and placement, and winter safety and comfort.
