When we think about prisons and jails, we tend to think mostly about crime – or maybe social inequality. But what we rarely think about is how it feels to be locked up and what social life in prisons and jails is like. In this course, we address these questions through a series of films, guest lectures, and maybe a visit to a prison.


Permission Note Enrollment limited to: freshmen and sophomores.

Outcomes

  • Be able to balance and assess a host of different types of evidence from different disciplines.
  • Engage in evidence-based discussions in the interest of achieving common goals.
