Course Description
Course information provided by the 2016-2017 Catalog.
Possible topics include identical particles, many electron atoms, second quantization, quantization of the electromagnetic field, scattering of complex systems, radiative transitions, and introduction to the Dirac equation.
Prerequisites/Corequisites Prerequisite: knowledge of concepts and techniques covered in PHYS 6561 and PHYS 6572 and of statistical mechanics at undergraduate level assumed.
