Cyclical changes in fashion and U.S. apparel industry development. Cultural, economic, demographic, and technological changes are related to American fashion innovation and diffusion.


Prerequisites/Corequisites Prerequisite: FSAD 1250, FSAD 1350, FSAD 1360, FSAD 2310, FSAD 2370 and FSAD 3320.

Permission Note Enrollment limited to: 25 students. Not open to freshmen or sophomores.

Outcomes

  • Understand the impact of socio-cultural expectations and change, economics, and new technologies on fashion.
  • Understand selected fashion theories and their influence on styles and trends.
  • Become skilled at correctly identifying and dating styles and fashions.
