MAE 7110

MAE 7110

Course information provided by the 2014-2015 Catalog.

Course develops methods for understanding the micromechanical state of materials under load based on x-ray diffraction and crystal-based representations of material microstructure and response. Methods for reducing high energy synchrotron x-ray data are presented focusing on lattice strain, elastic behavior and residual stress. Representation of crystal scale distributions of stress and orientation are presented using a finite element-based discretization of orientation space.

Prerequisites/Corequisites Prerequisite: MAE 6110 or permission of instructor.
