The Maternal and Child Nutrition training program in the Division of Nutritional Sciences, Cornell University, is the longest-standing training program devoted to maternal and child nutrition in the country. Funded by the National Institutes of Health (NICHD), it brings together faculty across the disciplinary spectrum of nutrition - including molecular nutrition, human nutrition and metabolism, community nutrition, and international nutrition - to advance the nutrition and health of mothers and children.
Enrollment Priority REF-FA25 Enrollment limited to: NICHD T32 trainees, masters students, and doctoral students. Senior undergraduate students with advanced coursework in nutrition must receive instructor consent to enroll.

Outcomes REF-FA25
- Examine the major threats to maternal and child nutrition and health.
- Evaluate the role of nutrition in the development of health outcomes in maternal and child health, across the lifecycle, from preconception through pregnancy, postpartum, lactation/infant feeding, and beyond.
- Critically analyze evaluate the use of scientific evidence on a specific topic in nutrition and maternal and child health that informsnutritional interventions, policy, and practice.

Recommended prerequisite: NS 6310 or NS 6320 and NS 5600 or NS6520; or equivalents. Enrollment limited to: NIH T32 (National Institutes of Health Training Grant) trainees, graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows conducting research in maternal and child nutrition.
