Course Description
Course information provided by the 2018-2019 Catalog.
This course will provide a proof-based, mathematically sophisticated overview of the models commonly used in the academic study of inventory analysis, operations management, and supply chain management. We will cover both classical results, as well as more recent results in the theory of operations management. The analysis of these models typically involves ideas from dynamic programming, control theory, probability theory, and convex optimization, and much of the analysis and proofs in the course will be oriented along these lines.
Prerequisites/Corequisites Prerequisite: Introductory PhD level courses in probability and optimization and an introductory course in real analysis at the advanced undergraduate level. A course in algorithms is helpful, but not strictly necessary.
