Advanced Financial Statement Analysis

Course information provided by the 2018-2019 Catalog.

This course builds on the material of NBA 5060 and focuses on more advanced financial statement topics and specialized industries. Topics include investment research, accounting analysis, credit analysis, and advanced valuation issues.   Instruction focuses on a combination of lecture and case-based discussion.  Students are expected to have taken NBA 5060 or possess a good understanding of basic financial statement analysis.  The material is designed to broaden student's understanding of financial statement analysis and complement the tools developed in NBA 5060. Course deliverables include case write-ups and a final group project.


Prerequisites/Corequisites Prerequisite: NBA 5060, finance immersion course, or permission of instructor.

Permission Note Enrollment limited to: students who have not completed 3-credit version of NBA 5061.

    **Open to Johnson Students Only** Prerequisite: NBA 5060 Add/Drop Dates: Johnson Students August 14th at 8:00am thru September 6th at 4:00pm with an additional Add/Drop period beginning October 15th at 8:00am thru October 22nd at 4:00pm. Non-Johnson Students: October 19th at 8:00am thru October 22nd 4:00pm. You may add or drop a second-half class after October 22nd with permission of the faculty. A late fee of $100.00 will be charged for each add or drop transaction. If you are dropping after November 12th you will also receive a "W" on your transcript in addition to the late fees. Non-Johnson students may add themselves to the waitlists during the enrollment periods, however Johnson Students have priority into the classes and non-Johnsons will be enrolled: 1) IF seats are still available after Johnson students complete their enrollment period and 2) IF the instructor allows. Non-Johnson students must see their college registrar regarding policies connected with adding/dropping a second half Johnson School class. A petition may be required.
