Course provides a general introduction to this diverse field including synthetic and natural polymers for engineering applications. Covers structure, order, and dynamics intergrating aspects of chemistry, physics, and engineering as needed to understand macromolecular materials. Relationships between structure and properties are elucidated from a materials science perspective. Examples from current literature are also discussed to expose students to the state-of-the-art in the field.


Prerequisites/Corequisites Prerequisite: MSE 2610 or permission of instructor. Corequisite: MSE 3010 or permission of instructor.
