Course Description
Course information provided by the 2017-2018 Catalog.
Facilitates an understanding of the policies, procedures, and systems required to attract, select, develop, and retain quality employees. Students learn about the major environmental factors that affect the HR function, including legislation, economics, and demographics. The course emphasizes HR issues in the hospitality industry. Instruction is based on lecture and discussion as well as case analysis and project work.
Prerequisites/Corequisites Prerequisite: HADM 1150.
Permission Note Enrollment limited to: SHA students. Not open to freshmen or graduate students.
Outcomes
- PLO 1.1: Students will identify key issues and appropriately apply discipline principles to analyze a hospitality management solution.
- PLO 1.2: Students will critically evaluate a hospitality management problem and will formulate a solution based on principles from at least two management disciplines.
