This 1-credit optional course aims to expand the students' vocabulary, and advance their speaking and reading skills as well as enhance their knowledge and deepen their cultural understanding by supplementing non-language courses throughout the University. Course materials may include prose and poetry, archival documents, articles, etc.


Prerequisites/Corequisites Prerequisites: For non-heritage speakers of Russian, the minimum requirement is RUSSA 1121 and RUSSA 1122 or RUSSA 1131 and RUSSA 1132, or equivalent. For heritage speakers of Russian, the minimum requirement is RUSSA 3305 or equivalent, reading proficiency determined by a placement test.

When Offered Fall, spring.

Comments The format of the course may vary depending on the proficiency level of the students and the requirements of the professor who teaches the "main" course. Course discussions will be held mostly in Russian and, when necessary, in English.
