MUSIC 2111

This course aims to introduce students to the practice of songwriting through workshop formatted classes. Songs will be analyzed from a diverse range of genres to develop a deeper understanding of lyrics, melody, harmony, rhythm, form, texture, and arrangement. In addition to listening and analysis assignments, students will create original songs by themselves and in collaboration with classmates. Student work will be presented in class and at an end of the semester concert.
