Course information provided by the 2016-2017 Catalog.

Topics include vectors, matrices, and linear transformations; differential calculus of functions of several variables; inverse and implicit function theorems; quadratic forms, extrema, and manifolds; multiple and iterated integrals.

Prerequisites/Corequisites Prerequisite: two semesters of calculus with a grade of A- or better, equivalent AP credit, or permission of instructor.

Forbidden Overlaps Forbidden Overlap: Due to an overlap in content, students will receive credit for only one course in the following group: MATH 2210, MATH 2230, MATH 2310, MATH 2940.

Distribution Category (MQR-AS)

When Offered Fall.

Comments Designed for students who have been highly successful in their previous calculus courses. MATH 2230–MATH 2240 provides an integrated treatment of linear algebra and multivariable calculus presented at a higher theoretical level than in MATH 2210–MATH 2220.
