Course Description
Course information provided by the 2015-2016 Catalog.
Topics include electro/magnetostatics, boundary value problems, dielectric and magnetic media, Maxwell's Equations, electromagnetic waves, including guided waves, and sources of electromagnetic radiation. At the level of Introduction to Electrodynamics by Griffiths.
Prerequisites/Corequisites Prerequisite: PHYS 2208 or PHYS 2214 or PHYS 2218 and MATH 2930 (or equivalent). PHYS 3327 covers similar material, but is aimed at students with exceptional backgrounds in physics/math.
Forbidden Overlaps Forbidden Overlap: Students may not receive credit for both PHYS 3323 and PHYS 3327.
Permission Note Intended for physics majors.
