Course Description
Course information provided by the 2015-2016 Catalog.
A detailed treatment of molecular and electronic structure emphasizing elements of the transition series. Group theory and ligand field theory will be developed in detail and will inform discussion of physical methods in inorganic chemistry including electron paramagnetic resonance, core spectroscopies, and magnetism. Electron transfer will be discussed as an introduction to inorganic reactivity.
Prerequisites/Corequisites Prerequisite: CHEM 3890-CHEM 3900 or equivalent or permission of instructor.
