This seminar will focus on translating from the source language (Spanish) into the target language (English). We will investigate the various technical, stylistic and cultural difficulties encountered in the translation process. Students will be asked to justify their translation choices, compare different translations of the same passage, work on different types of texts, and edit one another's translation. In consultation with the instructor, each student will choose two texts as individual translation projects. Attendance at all class meetings in mandatory.


Prerequisites/Corequisites Prerequisites: SPAN 3110 or permission of instructor.
